Pond Management
*If the filter is still allowing a high concentration of ammonia and nitrite in your pond, run off enough water to flush the bottom drains or vacuum pump the detritus off the bottom.
*Remove debris from the surface of the water with a skimmer or fit an overflow and use it occasionally.*If you submerged the pump, check it regularly for blockages.
Water Quality
*Service the filter meter system regularly to ensure that ammonia nitrite and levels are minimal.
*Ensure that the pond water is sufficiently aerated. * avoid over-pumping filters.
*When your Koi have spawned, keep a check on ammonia and nitrite levels for a week or so they tend to be higher at this tlme.

Feeding Your Koi
*ln tropical and humid weather like ours offer the koi more food but give them as much as they can consume in ten or twenty minutes.
*Feed them little food but feed them often, any leftovers will only cause pollution.
Healthy of Koi
*Check for infections and parasites, these develop faster in warm water whether you are a total newcomer to the hobby of koi-keeping or an experienced koi-keeper you will soon realize that there is a lot to learn. Life long learning is applicable to koi-keeping as well !!! you will enjoy your beautiful koi, they are fun to keep and they response and interact with you at feeding times....
